O superintendente da Portos RS, Fernando Estima, participou na última quinta-feira, 7, da reunião-almoço promovida pela Associação Comercial e Industrial de Camaquã (ACIC). Ele foi o palestrante da edição do mês de abril com o tema "Portos RS e o Desenvolvimento do Rio Grande do Sul".

Durante o encontro, Fernando expôs aos presentes informações sobre os portos gaúchos, como infraestrutura, sistema de sinalização náutica, o distrito industrial de Rio Grande e os projetos executados pela Portos RS, entre eles a dragagem do canal de acesso. Novas concessões, como a do Terminal Logístico do Arroz (TLA), também foram apresentadas.

Estima também destacou durante sua apresentação a renovação do convênio de delegação de administração dos portos com a União, firmado no ano passado, a inauguração do Cais Embarcadero, em Porto Alegre, e os avanços para a implementação do sistema de auxílio eletrônico à navegação com capacidade de monitorar ativamente o tráfego aquaviário.

O projeto Rio Grande Porto Indústria foi mencionado na palestra, assim como os investimentos previstos em novos empreendimentos e na ampliação de plantas, como a da Yara Brasil. A transformação de autarquia para empresa pública também compôs o cronograma da apresentação, onde foram trazidos detalhes sobre a nova formatação dos portos gaúchos.
