Na tarde da última quarta-feira, 01, o programa de entrevistas Café com Z recebeu o deputado estadual, Rodrigo Maroni. Na conversa, o deputado fala sobre seu projeto que cria o "Dia Estadual de Conscientização e Combate contra a crueldade animal'. A proposta tem o intuito, além da proteção da vida animal, de homenagear o cão Costela, que foi assassinado a pauladas em janeiro deste ano. 

Na entrevista, Rodrigo também comenta sobre as mudanças de entendimento da polícia e judiciário, a respeito do tratamento animal, que ocorreram a partir do caso. "Esse caso do Costela vira exemplo para outras situações, terá precedentes, ou seja, se a situação se repetir em Rio Grande, ou em outra localidade do estado, pegarão este inquérito e verão que deu prisão. Assim, a crueldade animal não segue saindo impune", conta o deputado.
